A tragic incident at a Surfers Paradise hotel pool has left a family devastated. Sandeep Kaur, the widow of Dharmvir Singh, along with her father-in-law, Gurjinder Singh, lost their lives while attempting to rescue their two-year-old daughter, who had fallen into the pool’s deep end.
Dharmvir Singh, aged 38, and his father Gurjinder Singh, aged 65, resident of Clyde North tragically drowned while attempting to rescue Dharmvir’s two-year-old daughter. The incident occurred at the Top of the Mark Holiday Apartments in Surfers Paradise on Sunday night. Queensland Ambulance Service senior operations supervisor Mitchell Ware reported that the toddler fell into the pool near the edge around 7pm on Easter Sunday.
The family, now grappling with emotional and financial burdens, has made a plea for assistance. Through a GoFundMe campaign, they have received overwhelming support, surpassing their initial fundraising goal. The funds will aid in transporting the bodies to Melbourne, organizing funeral services, and conducting last rites. CCTV footage depicts the harrowing moments leading to the tragedy, as the child’s mother and grandfather leapt into action to save her. Despite valiant efforts, both men tragically lost their lives. Emergency services arrived promptly but were unable to revive them.
